As a child, I grew to love nature on my family's farm in the rolling foothills of rural Pennsylvania. I started photographing nature when I was seventeen, which inspired me to become a professional photographer. After graduating from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, my work eventually took me to Atlanta, Georgia, where I worked as a commercial photographer. While in Atlanta, I established Commercial Photographic Services, Inc., a professional lab specializing in Black & White photography. During my time in Atlanta, I started taking photographic trips to the nearby North Georgia and North Carolina mountains. Images from these outings were published in several calendars and magazines. I soon began to realize that my true passion for photography was in the nature, landscape field. In 1996 I moved to Waynesville, North Carolina to pursue that passion full time. During the winter months in the mountains I discovered a love for oil painting that has developed into a whole new line of work. Now I enjoy the best of both worlds by splitting my time between painting and photography. With the purchase of new digital equipment I have added wedding photography as one of my services.
